Black bears have been causing a ruckus near the foothills of California’s San Gabriel Mountains. A woman in the area was recently injured by a bear while out for a walk with her dog. According to kron4.com, she suffered minor injuries after the bear approached her and swiped at her leg while she was walking her dog near the foothills of Monrovia. The bear’s claw scratched the back of the woman’s knee. The woman was able to escape the bear, and a neighbor called 911. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife responded to the scene.

The encounter happened just a day after a bear was caught on a security camera breaking into a nearby home in the foothills of Claremont. The bear broke through a window screen and entered the kitchen, where it dined on a variety of nuts, dried fruit, and other snacks.
