The man was arrested after game wardens found three fishing weights in the stomach of a bass that had been weighed for the tournament
Texas state authorities arrested a tournament angler after it was discovered that a bass he had weighed and entered into a Lake Fork fishing tournament had three sinkers in its stomach. According to kfvs12.com, Curtis Lee Daniels allegedly placed three, 3/4-ounce fishing weights in the bass’s stomach. The weights were discovered by a metal detecting wand.

An affidavit obtained by KLTV revealed that the same weights were discovered in Daniels’s boat. The overall prize for the tournament was $11,500.
Daniels was charged with violating a fishing tournament law, a third-degree felony. He was held at the Wood County Jail on a $20,000 bond and could face up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Additional penalties include license revocation and civil restitution.
