The pig seriously injured the dog outside before busting through the home’s sliding glass door
A wild hog attacked and injured a dog outside a home in Lehigh Acres, Florida, before crashing through the sliding glass door and entering the home.
According to Gulf Coast News, Edward Wells, the homeowner, was sitting on the couch when the pig (which looks like a sow, despite being referred to as a boar in the video) smashed through the glass door and came inside after attacking his dog.
"The dog came running in the house with blood dripping off of it, and I went to go see what was wrong with the dog," Ed said. "I turn my head, and there was this huge explosion."
Wells told Gulf Coast News he attempted to scare the large hog away, but it came toward him. He then sat in his chair and put his walker in front of him as a barrier between him and the animal. His family says the walker helped to keep him safe.
"I think he was very smart to move back and to place the rollator in front of him because by doing so, he wasn't an immediate target," Ed's daughter, Stacy Wells, said.
Stacy said the hog hung around, calm but confused, for approximately 45 minutes, until deputies arrived. They managed to shoo the hog outside of the house, but when they tried lassoing it with a rope, it charged at them a number of times before escaping into the woods.
The dog ended up needing 11 stitches to close its wounds from the attack.
Ed says his experience with the wild hog was “like something out of the Twilight Zone.”
