The 19-year-old Michigan driver was uninjured during the incident, which happened as he was driving down the highway
A Michigan man was fortunate to have escaped injury earlier this month after a wild turkey smashed through his truck’s windshield as he was driving down the highway.
According to CBS News, the accident happened around 12:45 p.m. on April 24. The 19-year-old man was attempting to cross a highway in Livingston County when the turkey flew into the path of the pickup and crashed through the windshield.
A photo provided by Michigan State Police shows that the bird landed across the truck’s steering wheel and column. Although it’s difficult to tell for sure from the video, the bird appears to be a hen.
The driver, who was not injured, managed to pull over.
"The driver was able to maintain control of his vehicle and avoided turning this into a major crash," Michigan State Police said in their report. "No injuries to the driver. Turkey, not so much."
