Realtree Unveils 40th Anniversary Heritage Turkey Vest

Tradition and innovation have come together to help turkey hunters celebrate Realtree’s 40th anniversary.

“What I hope people see is a nice premium vest,” said Realtree’s Tyler Jordan. “I hope a lot of people hunt with it. It’s unlike anything that’s been on the market, being lightweight, and made out of real leather and waxed cotton. We wanted to do something that was a little bit more commemorative than what was out there.”

Jordan said Realtree has worked on the vest for about a year and a half, even taking it to New Zealand on a turkey hunting adventure this past summer. The company has produced 400 vests to commemorate Realtree’s 40th anniversary. Each will come in a special 40th anniversary box with a certificate signed by Realtree founder Bill Jordan. The item is featured on Realtree.com, but most of the vests will be for sale at the 2026 National Wild Turkey Federation Convention and Sport Show, to be held Feb. 12 through 14 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The water-resistant vest features dual leather buckles, adjustable flat-lay clasps, dual drop pockets with button snaps, a slim striker pocket, a 4-inch-by-4-inch dual pot call pocket, a folding mouth call caddy and ID holder, and a drop box-call pocket with a clasp closure. Also, it has shotgun shell slots, an inside drop pocket, a zip closed inside pocket, woven seat support straps, a snap-button drop pocket, an adjustable chest leather strap, a woven rail system, a large reverse-coil zip-open drop-back pocket, and a 2.5-inch-thick high-density foam seat cushion with a quick-snap seat strap release.

“For this all to come together this year with our anniversary makes it all the sweeter,” Jordan said. “Some of my favorite memories involve turkey hunting. When I was young and growing up, going to the NWTF Convention with Dad and kicking off turkey season there with many of the people we knew was just like a big reunion. Just to go back there on the 40th anniversary to celebrate what I enjoy so much about it will be special.”

The Heritage Vest introduction coincides with a new partnership between NWTF and Realtree, which have joined forces to expand support for wild turkey conservation, hunting heritage, and the future of the outdoors by bolstering the NWTF’s Habitat for the Hatch Initiative, a 10-year effort to improve nesting and brood-rearing habitat in Southeast states through the active management of more than 1 million acres by 2033. Realtree is also a Full Strut Sponsor of the 2026 NWTF Convention.

“I think at an early age the NWTF Convention taught me about giving back,” Jordan said. “That’s always something Dad has preached to me and others in the company, to try and leave things better than you found them. We’ve been lucky to do that and improve habitat for turkeys and other wildlife on some of our land in Georgia. For Dad and me, turkey hunting means so much. That’s how I got introduced to hunting in general, sitting with Dad at 3 or 4 years old. With turkey hunting, there’s so much camaraderie, and that’s what I love about it so much.”
