Compete for prizes and scholarships valued at nearly $500,000

The CCA Florida STAR (Statewide Tournament and Anglers Rodeo) competition runs now through Sept. 2, 2019. Inshore and offshore divisions are slotted in, with redfish, speckled trout, snook, tarpon, grouper, kingfish, mahi-mahi and lionfish included. As this video shows, the STAR is a unique combination of conservation, data collection and education, with the opportunity for prizes and scholarships valued at nearly $500,000. This competition engages anglers of all styles and skill levels, from youth and novice to hardcore inshore and offshore anglers. Even those who don't fish can still participate and win something by picking up and disposing of garbage in and around coastal waters.

The goal of CCA Florida is to protect anglers' rights, and they've been doing it for more than 30 years. In the past decade, the primary focus has been on habitat protection and enhancement. Realtree is the official camouflage of CCA Florida.
