Brave cat holds its own against aggressive coyote
Coyotes are usually bad news for cats and other small pets. My neighborhood is overrun with coyotes, and our pets are paying the price. One neighbor recently lost two cats to coyotes, and another neighbor watched in horror as a coyote carried her small dog off in its jaws.
So, it's kind of refreshing to see this video of a cat holding its own against a coyote outside a home in Altadena, California. According to ABC 7, the confrontation was captured on a home doorbell camera.
The residents say the cat, which isn't their pet, was apparently protecting their home. I doubt that was the case. I think the cat was simply protecting itself, but either way, it fared much better than most cats would against a coyote.
As you can see, the feisty feline swipes at the coyote several times. The pair chases each other around a parked car in the driveway of the home before the coyote takes off.
The homeowner said the cat wasn't harmed during the encounter.
Has a coyote injured or killed any of your pets?
