Have You Seen This Turkey Hunting Stuff?
The NWTF Convention is full of friends who are like extended family, and turkey hunting gear that makes you wish spring gobbler season were tomorrow. For now, we wait. But looking at turkey hunting stuff on the show floor helps a little.

The Hunters Specialties Gun Rest has been around a long time.
To me, and other turkey hunters, it would have to be one of the most innovative products in the history of modern turkey hunting. I have old ones I can't part with, and new ones I'm breaking in.
Put simply, it allows you to rest your shotgun on your knee as you run calls and wait for turkeys to arrive at your setup. A quick-snap allows for easy release. I always carry it snapped to my vest, just wear it above my knee as I hunt.
And of course it's clad in Realtree camo.

Male spring turkeys "shock gobble" to loud sounds, including barred owl calls.
This allows you to pinpoint birds and hatch a plan for hunting these turkeys.

Crow calls also pull shock gobbles from male turkeys in the spring.

Gobbling can pull in another male turkey to your position, or draw in hens with gobblers.
Used with due diligence and plain ol' common sense, it's part of the turkey hunter's arsenal.
