Indiana has some turkeys to hunt. Hunters here took a record 16,649 birds during the Spring 2023 season. Further, biologists say long-term population trends have stabilized. In fact, bird numbers are growing in several northwestern Indiana counties.

Public-land hunting opportunities prevail in northwestern, south-central and southwestern Indiana. Hunting is open statewide, though somewhat scarce in certain locations outside of those regions.
