Michigan Hunter Discovers Remains of Man Missing Since 2018

Kevin Graves disappeared while attending the annual Electric Forest Festival

A hunter has found the remains of a man missing from a Detroit-area music festival since 2018.

According to apnews.com, the remains, which were found near the site of the annual Electric Forest Festival, were identified as Kevin Graves.

Police say the cause of death is unknown, but there are no indications of foul play.

“At least the family has some closure on where he is and now hopefully the next steps can determine what happened,” Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said.

Graves, 28, was last seen at Electric Forest in 2018 when he told his girlfriend he was returning to his tent.

Police, dogs and dozens of volunteers searched for Graves and divers checked local lakes without luck. In 2023, a billboard with Graves’ picture encouraged festival attendees to call police with any tips.

Graves’ father, Gary Graves, said police visited his home Monday, December 30, 2024, when the discovery was made.

“With the dogs and everything they claim they had running around there looking, I can’t see how we missed him,” Graves, 80, told MLive.com. “But I can’t say for sure until I know exactly where it was at.”
