It’s hard to go wrong with turkey nuggets no matter how you prepare them. This version marinates the turkey overnight in your favorite Buffalo wing sauce, hits them with Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Ranch seasoning for even more flavor, then finishes with a bacon wrap before going on the grill.
Marinating yields flavor and tenderness in these bacon-wrapped nuggets.
All this adds up to an extra tasty turkey nugget. We serve them with ranch or blue cheese for an appetizer or even a main course. First, a few tips. Use thin bacon so that it cooks completely without overcooking the turkey. Along those same lines, cut your nuggets into slightly larger than bite-sized pieces. If they are too small, the turkey will overcook before the bacon gets crisp.
Start by cutting one side of a turkey breast into nuggets. Add to a bowl or zip-style bag and pour in a bottle of your favorite wing sauce. For me, that’s Crystal brand. Marinate in the refrigerator overnight. When you are ready to grill, drain away the excess sauce.
Marinate overnight with your favorite wing sauce.
Season the nuggets well with Frank’s Buffalo Ranch seasoning blend.
Drain the sauce from the nuggets, then season well on all sides.
Wrap each nugget in a half slice of bacon. Secure the bacon with a toothpick.
Wrap each nugget with a half slice of bacon secured with a toothpick.
Grill for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees, flipping at the halfway point, or until the bacon is cooked through and the turkey is at least 150 degrees.
Grill until the bacon is done and the turkey reaches at least 150 degrees.
Serve with ranch, blue cheese, or whatever wing dip you enjoy.
