The 27-year-old man has faced charges for wildlife crimes in the past
A Florida man is facing charges for animal abuse after deputies say he intentionally drove over a deer and posted the video on TikTok.
According to Business Insider, Clay Neil Kinney, 27, of Geneva, Florida, has been charged with one felony and five misdemeanors.
The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office states Kinney was arrested on December 28 and is under investigation, suspected of "running over deer and posting the video on TikTok."
After his arrest, deputies said he admitted to "intentionally" running over the animal.
According to SCSO, Kinney can be seen in the video footage attempting to run over five deer, but he only ended up hitting one. The status of the deer is unknown.
He has a court date on January 30 when he will be arraigned on animal torture charges, as well as driving with a suspended license.
Kinney has had past run-ins with the law. In May 2021, he was given six years probation after he was found guilty of illegally hunting on protected land. Two months later, after a captured fawn was found in his possession, he was charged with illegal taking of a deer and was fined $758. In August 2021, he was found guilty of illegal taking and possession of a deer and fined $850.
