The deer caused a big mess when it ran across the top of a bookshelf
A deer that broke into a New Jersey Elementary school made quite a mess of things as police chased it throughout the building.
NBC Philadelphia reports that a man who was walking his dog called the Toms River Police Department after seeing the deer break through a window at the Cedar Grove Elementary School.
Police officers located the deer in a stairwell but couldn’t catch it as it ran down the hallway and through the open door of a classroom. Footage posted on the Toms River Police Instagram account shows the deer jumping onto a bookshelf and scattering items about as officers try to coral it.
The officers were eventually able to use a dog snare to guide the deer, which they named Rudolph, to a rear door where it could exit the school.
