Three adults managed to kill the bobcat
A rabid bobcat attacked a camp leader as he slept in a hammock during a youth expedition in Connecticut.
According to NBC, the attack occurred early Friday morning, June 30, on Selden Neck Island in Selden Neck State Park. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says the man and two other adults managed to kill the cat.
The adults suffered some injuries and were taken to the hospital. The campers had no contact with the bobcat, and first responders took them off the island after the attack, the department said.
According to Inside Edition, the bobcat’s body was transported to a state lab where it tested positive for rabies.
The expedition was part of the Wilderness School, a youth development program that includes hiking, camping, canoeing, and other activities.
