Bear Cub Captured in Ashland Rite Aid Store
Shoppers at the Rite Aid in Ashland, Ore., found more than they were looking for when perusing the aisles of the store.
A black bear cub, estimated to be only 1 month old, managed to make its way into the store, shocking customers who captured the scampering cub on video.
According to KGW.com, the cub was first spotted at a nearby hotel, where he hopped out of the window, crossed the street and then wondered into the Rite Aid.
The police eventually arrived and managed to scoop up the little cub in a shopping basket.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is caring for the cub until it can be relocated to a rehab center or zoo. There are no plans to place the cub back into the wild because of its contact with humans.
There were no reported sightings of the cub's mother.
