Coyotes are a common sight in the Burbank, California, neighborhood, but bears are rarely spotted
A Ring camera captured footage of two coyotes chasing a black bear back and forth across a Burbank, California, neighborhood.
Barbara Curren told ABC 7 it’s not unusual to see coyotes roaming her neighborhood, but bear sightings are rare.
"When I saw the bear, I got really excited because we had heard he was in the area," Curren said. "Seeing him just made me feel like a little girl again."
Current says after hearing noise and commotion coming from her yard the previous night, she decided to check her Ring camera footage.
"We had heard quite a ruckus that night with the coyotes," she said. "We're like, OK, they probably caught something and then when I saw the Ring [video] I'm like, 'Oh, the coyotes were excited about the bear' - whether it's defensive or not."
The footage shows one of the coyotes attempting to nip the bear before backing off.
