The bear ate the fruit in the California family’s front yard before wandering off
A startled California family caught footage of a bold bear stealing watermelon from a refrigerator in their garage.
According to Fox9.com, Chris Yee took the video on Sunday, May 12, which shows the bear first opening the freezer and then rummaging through the refrigerator inside their family’s garage in La Cañada Flintridge.
"Oh my God, it opened the fridge!" his child could be heard exclaiming in the video.
The bear was later filmed walking across the driveway with the watermelon in its mouth before it sat down to eat it.
"The bear plucked out of the refrigerator a third of a watermelon that was sliced and then proceeded to walk to our front yard to sit and eat it," Yee said.
The bear eventually left.
